Help! I’ve become an interior decorator.
I’ve never been much good at designing rooms and picking out just the right accent items. Usually I defer to my wife when it comes to decorating our living space. Unfortunately, the Farmer house I “built” requires it. Sure, I could have done what most comics do and had minimal to no backgrounds, but I’m stupid and kept on doodling in the panels. Now I’ve gotten myself into a fix!
A few strips back I drew the house Jim Corn lives in (this was originally Derek’s grandparents’ house). I then had to work up a bit of a floor plan because I found that the room with the tv and the blue couch was not at the front of the house. That room has a bigger window that is on the side of the house. Now this week I had to furnish a front room.
Please realize that Derek’s mom, Rachel, will be working on the house, so over time you might find her changing a few things here and there. Don’t know if she likes the gray front door. She might want to remove the paint and re-stain it. She also might be repainting the rooms, too.
Who knows, I might actually get good at this and want to work on my real-life home! I hope my wife likes bright, turquoise walls.
haha! sneaky…
Are you doing all the painting yourself? It’s a lot of work, I had to help my parents paint part of our house…it was a colorful experience to say the least…
Yes, I’ve painted my share of rooms. My favorite painting, though, was an animal illustration I painted in my young twins bedroom when they were little. They are now of the age, though, that they want it painted over. (Sniff) That will be a hard job to do. At least I have photos.
Those crows are a bunch of black-winged thugs. Jim might need to take some Corn-Fu lessons!
