In future Corninja appearances, I’ll have to tuck some corn skewers in his belt. He’d use those instead of those ninja forks.
Hi Everyone,
Mark your calendars for Saturday, May 7. Across the country this is FREE COMIC DAY. Many comic book publishers produce comic books to be given away free that day at your local comic store. In addition, many stores have scheduled events.
If you live in the Dallas area, come out and see me at Zeus Comics & Toys that day. I’ll be doing free sketches for kids, selling some Jim Corn original artwork and perhaps have a fun Jim Corn giveaway. (I’m working on it.) But, most importantly, you will see a grown man wearing a giant foam corn hat! I think that beats going to see the world’s largest ball of twine, so come out and visit with me at Zeus Comics!
Had to pick up my son early from school today. He’s now sick with the bug that’s been running through our family. This got me wondering though, with all of the exposure to sick kids, do school nurses get double the sick days? You’d think they’d at least get that for the first few years while they build up their immunity.
All of my boys are big into Pokemon. Over the years they’ve watched the tv show and movies, played the card game and logged in countless hours playing the latest versions of the game. A few weeks back we went to our local mall for a big Pokemon Black & White road show event. Long lines, but the boys had a lot of fun and I actually PLAYED Pokemon for the first time.
One thing strikes me as funny, though. As most of you know, the story involves Pokemon trainers capturing wild Pokemon and making them fight one another. Are we raising the next generation of cock fighters? ;—)
Thanks again for stopping by the land of Jim Corn! If you like the comic, please tell a friend and become an Amaizing Jim Corn facebook friend. “See” you next Tuesday.
Jim has been entered in the corn category of the 3-H program. (The three Hs standing for Heartland, Home and Horses.)
This, of course, is not to be confused with the 4-H youth program, which has a long history in this country. Their first club was called “The Tomato Club” or the “Corn Growing Club.” Their clover emblem was created in 1910 and the four Hs stand for Head, Heart, Hands and Health. You can learn about 4-H’s history, current programs or find a local club at: http://www.4-h.org/
